“NOT ALL GIANTS CAN DO EVERYTHING”

\
Pauline Loar, Acad - C, S.Y. 2016 - 2017

This is the primary message being delivered by Windy Sabolbora as she introduces herself as an SSG Secretary - wannabe in Sagay City Senior High School Grand Rally yesterday in the covered court at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon. The audiences are about 200 students.  She motivated us to vote wisely and exercise our rights in this coming election. She educated us to participate in every activity in the school. She also persuaded us to vote for her because she is willing to serve our school. She also entertained us with her jokes and humorous words.

She spoke about the platforms, the programs and the plans that she would do if she will be elected as SSG secretary. One of her platforms that I really like is the “PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL” because students like me are very shy to express or to let others see our talents yet just like others, I want also to improve it.

Many students can hear her voice clearly even though the microphone is not cooperating. She is easy to follow, her gestures and actions are appropriate to her words, she doesn’t have any distracting mannerisms. She is not a boring speaker; she shares a lot of stories that can touch the heart of the audience. Just like me, she is also a shy student back then but when she was motivated by her teachers and classmates, she’s now confident to face others. Her voice is not bad too hear. For me Windy Sabolbora is a good speaker. She is suited to be an SSG secretary. I am really convinced by her words that she wanted to make our school a good place for us. If there is a chance to listen her again, I will willingly do that. Her speech ended in a memorable way as well.

HOW IS OUR EAPP CLASS SO FAR?

Comments emailed by my ACAD - E students for their English for Academic and Professional Purposes Class. They wrote this last month, right now, I'm no longer so sure if they felt the same way. Hahaha.  HOW IS OUR CLASS IN EAPP GOING SO FAR? So far... Our EAPP class is going well and it's pretty interesting because we're tackling some things that are really in my interest. There's just something in our class that fires me up. Well maybe, it is because my classmates are also showing a great time interacting when our class is going. What made it even more nice and amazing is that, we're going smoothly through the topics which made it even easier for us to cope up with the lesson. For some reason, our teacher is beyond awesome up to the point that we are slowly stepping out of our comfort zones especially when we're doing a reporting. I guess bringing up this K-12 curriculum is not that bad after all. -        REU JEAN BACABAC  For ...

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic?

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic? by Gladys Seracarpio Introduction:                 Friendship is something that everyone needs. We need friends so that our life will not be boring. We are comfortable when we are with them. No man is an island as they say. But can a girl and a guy be ‘just friends’without any romantic stuffs involved? For me, it’s a No. Body:                 It may sound stereotypical, but men do have sex in mind. Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology surveyed 308 heterosexual undergrad students between the ages 18 and 30, asking them about their friendships, sexual attractions and experiences with misread social signals.              ...

Future Visions

Future Visions By Reu Jean Bacabac Acad E, S.Y. 2016 - 2017 “What is my vision in the future?”  This is the usual question that every student ask themselves that can be the root of confusion since there is even a bigger number of career choices now that makes it even more hard for a student to choose. “ What should a student like me consider before choosing the right path to go?” - the question that we normally ask ourselves. In picking the right career, a student should consider what she’s passionate to do. It’s very important to ask yourself what’s your desired job in the future. So that when the time of choosing comes, you will not regret the decision that you’ve made. You should take a look ahead in the future and imagine yourself doing the things that you love to do. It’s hard to think about the things that aren’t coming yet but the earlier you think about it, the earlier things will be fixed. It may be hard, but as long as you know what you really w...
