My Chosen Speaker (v.2)

Ellyn Grace M. Alagao 11- Acad.D

My chosen speaker is Tiffany Jean S. Dawa whose goal is to motivate and at the same time to persuade. She starts delivering her message with a short description of what a good leader should be. Her purpose is to run for a position in the Supreme Student Government as the Vice President. She achieved her objective wherein she speaks to a large audience consisting of five sections with an estimated forty-five students held at the covered court.

Tiffany speaks confidently and that she stood straight and was able to deliver her speech clearly and approvingly for the audience. She intended her presentation to be memorable. The speech was organized logically and was easy to follow because she presents her experiences as evidence of her primary objective in running for a position. She concluded it sententiously, and it was filled with enthusiasm for she speaks confidently persuading students to vote for her.

Even though Tiffany was not able to use humor but there’s an effective interaction between her and the audience. She uses appropriate pauses before and after her phrases and words. It was relevant to her speech that she made herself comfortable on stage as she stood straight in front of everybody. She also uses natural gestures and other non-verbal communication such as eye contact and hand gestures.

Tiffany filled the crowd with her loud and soft variations and step by step uses pauses to use aid understanding. She speaks continuously and the language were appropriate to the students. She articulates very clearly and makes me feel convinced that she really deserves my vote. If I were given a chance to listen again, I want Tiffany Jean S. Dawa to be my chosen speaker.

HOW IS OUR EAPP CLASS SO FAR?

Comments emailed by my ACAD - E students for their English for Academic and Professional Purposes Class. They wrote this last month, right now, I'm no longer so sure if they felt the same way. Hahaha.  HOW IS OUR CLASS IN EAPP GOING SO FAR? So far... Our EAPP class is going well and it's pretty interesting because we're tackling some things that are really in my interest. There's just something in our class that fires me up. Well maybe, it is because my classmates are also showing a great time interacting when our class is going. What made it even more nice and amazing is that, we're going smoothly through the topics which made it even easier for us to cope up with the lesson. For some reason, our teacher is beyond awesome up to the point that we are slowly stepping out of our comfort zones especially when we're doing a reporting. I guess bringing up this K-12 curriculum is not that bad after all. -        REU JEAN BACABAC  For ...

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic?

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic? by Gladys Seracarpio Introduction:                 Friendship is something that everyone needs. We need friends so that our life will not be boring. We are comfortable when we are with them. No man is an island as they say. But can a girl and a guy be ‘just friends’without any romantic stuffs involved? For me, it’s a No. Body:                 It may sound stereotypical, but men do have sex in mind. Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology surveyed 308 heterosexual undergrad students between the ages 18 and 30, asking them about their friendships, sexual attractions and experiences with misread social signals.              ...

Luel's Entry on Imagery

Name                   : Luel Jay Pedrano 12 - Athena Content / Lesson : Imagery on Literary Texts Subject                : Creative Writing I was sitting in my uncomfortable armchair in our classroom. It was so hot and irritating. It was the last subject for the day. My ears were so attentive as I was listening to the woman with a girly tone of voice. She was in front of us, standing steadily, and is talking about our class lesson. It's kind of weird that in our other subject I was falling asleep but with hers – it was so interesting. I was staring at her eyes which are of the same color as her eyebrows – dark and attractive. She was not that tall and not that skinny. Her words were so clear to my ears and she was sliding her fingers through her hair – placing it on the back of her ears. She is the type of woman you don’t find easily these days. Her intelligent and fluent pronunciation o...
