Luel's Entry on Imagery

Name                   : Luel Jay Pedrano 12 - Athena
Content / Lesson : Imagery on Literary Texts
Subject                : Creative Writing

I was sitting in my uncomfortable armchair in our classroom. It was so hot and irritating. It was the last subject for the day. My ears were so attentive as I was listening to the woman with a girly tone of voice. She was in front of us, standing steadily, and is talking about our class lesson. It's kind of weird that in our other subject I was falling asleep but with hers – it was so interesting. I was staring at her eyes which are of the same color as her eyebrows – dark and attractive. She was not that tall and not that skinny. Her words were so clear to my ears and she was sliding her fingers through her hair – placing it on the back of her ears.
She is the type of woman you don’t find easily these days. Her intelligent and fluent pronunciation of words made her so sexy in my eyes. It was not a carnal imagination though. It was something that you call conspicuous appreciation in a way that you can really find this unique and cool character on her. Her hair was set on her shoulders, its color was different. It was like the color you get after rebonding your hair. I like her class discussion; it was different. Like her hair, it is not boring, it is actually fun. Right now, I think she is having a hard time speaking because of her braces but still she was so fluent, her words so organized. I placed my back on my chair and crossed my arms then I sigh and smiled. I then thought “she's awesome”.. I cleared my thoughts and listened to her class discussion again. “Okay! Write something about imagery,” she said. Then the whole class started making murmurs, excited about what to write and all. “What if I write about her…” I smiled. Then I searched for my pad paper in my bag, picked up my ballpen which is on the verge of dying due to ink exhaustion and then I started writing.

Editors Note:
Out of all the student articles I have published in this blog, this is by far the one that I have debated the most, within myself, whether to publish it or not. The reason is already obvious to the readers – especially to the 12 – Athena.
But I have always published the “best works” in this blog and this, as you can see, is a very good example of imagery. So rather than listen to the fear of being called as self – serving (lol) I chose to immortalize this work by publishing it here, for the benefit of my future students and other people whom this piece would help.
My thoughts on the content? Well, Luel has always been one of the most honest student I have so far. Char. Lewl. Jk. ☮

HOW IS OUR EAPP CLASS SO FAR?

Comments emailed by my ACAD - E students for their English for Academic and Professional Purposes Class. They wrote this last month, right now, I'm no longer so sure if they felt the same way. Hahaha.  HOW IS OUR CLASS IN EAPP GOING SO FAR? So far... Our EAPP class is going well and it's pretty interesting because we're tackling some things that are really in my interest. There's just something in our class that fires me up. Well maybe, it is because my classmates are also showing a great time interacting when our class is going. What made it even more nice and amazing is that, we're going smoothly through the topics which made it even easier for us to cope up with the lesson. For some reason, our teacher is beyond awesome up to the point that we are slowly stepping out of our comfort zones especially when we're doing a reporting. I guess bringing up this K-12 curriculum is not that bad after all. -        REU JEAN BACABAC  For ...

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic?

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic? by Gladys Seracarpio Introduction:                 Friendship is something that everyone needs. We need friends so that our life will not be boring. We are comfortable when we are with them. No man is an island as they say. But can a girl and a guy be ‘just friends’without any romantic stuffs involved? For me, it’s a No. Body:                 It may sound stereotypical, but men do have sex in mind. Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology surveyed 308 heterosexual undergrad students between the ages 18 and 30, asking them about their friendships, sexual attractions and experiences with misread social signals.              ...

Future Visions

Future Visions By Reu Jean Bacabac Acad E, S.Y. 2016 - 2017 “What is my vision in the future?”  This is the usual question that every student ask themselves that can be the root of confusion since there is even a bigger number of career choices now that makes it even more hard for a student to choose. “ What should a student like me consider before choosing the right path to go?” - the question that we normally ask ourselves. In picking the right career, a student should consider what she’s passionate to do. It’s very important to ask yourself what’s your desired job in the future. So that when the time of choosing comes, you will not regret the decision that you’ve made. You should take a look ahead in the future and imagine yourself doing the things that you love to do. It’s hard to think about the things that aren’t coming yet but the earlier you think about it, the earlier things will be fixed. It may be hard, but as long as you know what you really w...
