SHALLOW SMILE

The Author: Threcia May Flores of G12 - Persephone
The world slowed down. His feet takes small little steps towards me. His brown eyes or black I think, bores into mine as if he could see right through me. My heart beats like it was a drum being pounded so hard. My hands, my feet, trembled right through my forehead, my neck and my back, even my palms were sweating as if I just washed them with water. His black hair neatly fixed. His uniform white as the clouds I’ve seen behind him. A smile plastered in his face and as he stopped everything came into a halt. His lips slowly moved as he sat in the chair. He talked of things which I couldn’t understand. His sweet smile disappeared. Replaced by a curved and a tear. My heart was shattered to pieces like the glass I dropped at home. I closed my eyes as I heard him say the things I haven’t expected to hear. His eyes are now filled with sorrow. But he said those words as if they were a piece of meat given to a dog freely.I managed to give him a sweet smile, the smile they’d see usually plastered on my face. I turned away doing my best to keep the tears from streaming down my face and now the thorn had made me bleed inside but still managed to give my good old sweet smile; slowly as the truth punched through me.

HOW IS OUR EAPP CLASS SO FAR?

Comments emailed by my ACAD - E students for their English for Academic and Professional Purposes Class. They wrote this last month, right now, I'm no longer so sure if they felt the same way. Hahaha.  HOW IS OUR CLASS IN EAPP GOING SO FAR? So far... Our EAPP class is going well and it's pretty interesting because we're tackling some things that are really in my interest. There's just something in our class that fires me up. Well maybe, it is because my classmates are also showing a great time interacting when our class is going. What made it even more nice and amazing is that, we're going smoothly through the topics which made it even easier for us to cope up with the lesson. For some reason, our teacher is beyond awesome up to the point that we are slowly stepping out of our comfort zones especially when we're doing a reporting. I guess bringing up this K-12 curriculum is not that bad after all. -        REU JEAN BACABAC  For ...

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic?

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic? by Gladys Seracarpio Introduction:                 Friendship is something that everyone needs. We need friends so that our life will not be boring. We are comfortable when we are with them. No man is an island as they say. But can a girl and a guy be ‘just friends’without any romantic stuffs involved? For me, it’s a No. Body:                 It may sound stereotypical, but men do have sex in mind. Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology surveyed 308 heterosexual undergrad students between the ages 18 and 30, asking them about their friendships, sexual attractions and experiences with misread social signals.              ...

Future Visions

Future Visions By Reu Jean Bacabac Acad E, S.Y. 2016 - 2017 “What is my vision in the future?”  This is the usual question that every student ask themselves that can be the root of confusion since there is even a bigger number of career choices now that makes it even more hard for a student to choose. “ What should a student like me consider before choosing the right path to go?” - the question that we normally ask ourselves. In picking the right career, a student should consider what she’s passionate to do. It’s very important to ask yourself what’s your desired job in the future. So that when the time of choosing comes, you will not regret the decision that you’ve made. You should take a look ahead in the future and imagine yourself doing the things that you love to do. It’s hard to think about the things that aren’t coming yet but the earlier you think about it, the earlier things will be fixed. It may be hard, but as long as you know what you really w...
