The Author: Ecilie Crisostomo of G12 - Aphrodite
Darkness filled the room and pills and empty bottles can be found everywhere. I stared at the girl in front of me with messy hair, dry lips, and expressionless eyes. A smile curved in my lips but she just stared at me with her empty eyes. A soft laugh escaped my mouth but she just stared at me silently. The silence reigned between us. The next thing I knew her laugh filled my ears. There was something about her laugh that made me feel nervous and my heart beat so fast. I studied her and something caught my attention. There were bruises and scars and blood on her wrist. On the other hand, she was holding a blade with stains of blood. Her shoulders began to heave – and tears started to fall. “Who are you?” I asked with a trembling voice. “Who are you?” she repeated. “You’re pretending,” I said. “You’re pretending,” she repeated and her smile made me tremble. I was about to touch the girl in front of me and it was when realization hit me. In front of me is a mirror – a broken one – just like the girl I was describing.

HOW IS OUR EAPP CLASS SO FAR?

Comments emailed by my ACAD - E students for their English for Academic and Professional Purposes Class. They wrote this last month, right now, I'm no longer so sure if they felt the same way. Hahaha.  HOW IS OUR CLASS IN EAPP GOING SO FAR? So far... Our EAPP class is going well and it's pretty interesting because we're tackling some things that are really in my interest. There's just something in our class that fires me up. Well maybe, it is because my classmates are also showing a great time interacting when our class is going. What made it even more nice and amazing is that, we're going smoothly through the topics which made it even easier for us to cope up with the lesson. For some reason, our teacher is beyond awesome up to the point that we are slowly stepping out of our comfort zones especially when we're doing a reporting. I guess bringing up this K-12 curriculum is not that bad after all. -        REU JEAN BACABAC  For ...

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic?

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic? by Gladys Seracarpio Introduction:                 Friendship is something that everyone needs. We need friends so that our life will not be boring. We are comfortable when we are with them. No man is an island as they say. But can a girl and a guy be ‘just friends’without any romantic stuffs involved? For me, it’s a No. Body:                 It may sound stereotypical, but men do have sex in mind. Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology surveyed 308 heterosexual undergrad students between the ages 18 and 30, asking them about their friendships, sexual attractions and experiences with misread social signals.              ...

Luel's Entry on Imagery

Name                   : Luel Jay Pedrano 12 - Athena Content / Lesson : Imagery on Literary Texts Subject                : Creative Writing I was sitting in my uncomfortable armchair in our classroom. It was so hot and irritating. It was the last subject for the day. My ears were so attentive as I was listening to the woman with a girly tone of voice. She was in front of us, standing steadily, and is talking about our class lesson. It's kind of weird that in our other subject I was falling asleep but with hers – it was so interesting. I was staring at her eyes which are of the same color as her eyebrows – dark and attractive. She was not that tall and not that skinny. Her words were so clear to my ears and she was sliding her fingers through her hair – placing it on the back of her ears. She is the type of woman you don’t find easily these days. Her intelligent and fluent pronunciation o...
