The Author: Genievic Navarro of G12 - Aphrodite     She’s a kind of extraordinary woman. She became my comforter, teacher, adviser, and chika buddy, food buddy, and lagaw buddy. She even acts like my Mom sometimes. She is always guiding me in every choice I make. In short, she became my bestfriend. She is my everything. She treats me like her own sister. She’s always there to support me, gives me a chance, and helps me fulfill my dreams.           It’s been 48 months, 2,467 weeks, 17,280 days, 414,720 hrs., 24,883,200 mins., 1,492,992,000 seconds and still counting since I met her. Four years since she became a part of my life. She’s awesome, cool, pretty, kind, and everything that describes a person. I never expected that a kind of “terror, strict, gorgeous” teacher will become my all now. I trust her so much I even tell her my secrets. There are times that we talk about my crushes, I feel awkward of course. But I feel so safe in her arms I f...

MY GRANDMOTHER

The Author: Raffy Edano of G12 - Aphrodite I woke up every morning having a lot of inspiration in my life. When I look at the old lady beside me, this another inspiration provides a smile in my heart. She is my Lola, a 4-ft., 9-inches tall old lady with pure white hair and wrinkled skin. When she looks at you, it seems like her love is flowing into your body. She is as gentle as a cotton. She is my inspiration. She gives me positive vibes every day. A word from her can lift you up when you are feeling blue. She inspires me to be who I am every day. I want to be like her, not an old lady but a good and caring person to my grandchildren in the future.           I want to be a good and loving person like my Lola. She makes me and everyone else smile and be inspired. She is skilled in repairing clothes and I want to be like her. But more than that, I want to be a professional fashion designer. She teaches me how to make dresses and I feel inspired to do...

The Author: Jea Malimbag of G12 - Persephone             I got this person whom I could never live without. I grew up seeing her everyday. She always put up a smile on my face. I’ve witnessed how her dark hair turned into gray. I’ve seen how she lays in bed tired and worn-out. She’s my happy pill.  I remember when she comes home from somewhere having a gift for me in her hand. That’s when my longing will be replaced by happiness. I love the feeling of her soft and wrinkling hands on mine. I love sitting on a chair with her while we’re having our hot coffee in hand. She’s someone who I wanted to live with forever.  But now that she’s old, I know for sure that my dream of living with her by my side forever is impossible. I guess I’ll just treasure those memories and do my best to make every moment that I am with her memorable. I will do my very best to put on the sweetest smile on her face. I wanted to pay off the person who made my life ...

BREAK UP

The Author: April Sibulan of G12 - Aphrodite I can’t believe it happened. I tried to stop it but I couldn’t. I finally broke, I have no idea how to fight. I thought I could keep this all inside of me. I thought if I put it in the back of my mind, it would all just go away in due time. I was wrong. Keeping all of those emotions inside of me just got too much to handle and now here I am, broken down and defenseless. I’m in tears I can’t hold back any longer. Tonight, tonight I’ll cry. I’m going to let everything out I’ve been keeping deep inside.

The Author: Marie Therese Sayon of G12 - Psyche I look in his brown almond eyes when he touched my hand. A sweet smile flashed in his face the moment we stare at each other. All of a sudden, I felt his lips claiming mine. A kiss! A sweet kiss from a stranger. A man with pale skin, almond eyes, brown hair, red lips, and with very strong personality who took my first kiss is a total stranger from me. He kept on murmuring in my ears, his voice is like the thunder. In his arms, I feel warm and safe. When he opened his mouth, two pointed sharp teeth is about to bite me. I ran in the middle of the road despite the heavy rain realizing that the stranger who kissed me is not human but a vampire.

SHALLOW SMILE

The Author: Threcia May Flores of G12 - Persephone The world slowed down. His feet takes small little steps towards me. His brown eyes or black I think, bores into mine as if he could see right through me. My heart beats like it was a drum being pounded so hard. My hands, my feet, trembled right through my forehead, my neck and my back, even my palms were sweating as if I just washed them with water. His black hair neatly fixed. His uniform white as the clouds I’ve seen behind him. A smile plastered in his face and as he stopped everything came into a halt. His lips slowly moved as he sat in the chair. He talked of things which I couldn’t understand. His sweet smile disappeared. Replaced by a curved and a tear. My heart was shattered to pieces like the glass I dropped at home. I closed my eyes as I heard him say the things I haven’t expected to hear. His eyes are now filled with sorrow. But he said those words as if they were a piece of meat given to a dog freely. I managed to gi...

STRANGERS

The Author: Alliah Mae Canete of G12 - Persephone I can always reminisce the time when we first met. It’s the time were we are still strangers from one another. I don’t know you and I don’t have any little information about you and it’s the same case for you too. You were just sitting at the corner of your room, listening to what your teacher is discussing. You captured my innocent eyes because of your pleasant and innocent face, your fair skin, your overall physical appearance and your personality. You’re a friendly kind of person. You can easily get along with someone because of your pleasant characteristics. You’re fun to be with and I’m very happy that time because I’ve met you and we became friends but because of some instances we became strangers again. It breaks my heart into pieces because I consider you of the special person in my life. After all these, maybe we’re just destined to meet, but not destined to be together.

The Author: Ecilie Crisostomo of G12 - Aphrodite Darkness filled the room and pills and empty bottles can be found everywhere. I stared at the girl in front of me with messy hair, dry lips, and expressionless eyes. A smile curved in my lips but she just stared at me with her empty eyes. A soft laugh escaped my mouth but she just stared at me silently. The silence reigned between us. The next thing I knew her laugh filled my ears. There was something about her laugh that made me feel nervous and my heart beat so fast. I studied her and something caught my attention. There were bruises and scars and blood on her wrist. On the other hand, she was holding a blade with stains of blood. Her shoulders began to heave – and tears started to fall. “Who are you?” I asked with a trembling voice. “Who are you?” she repeated. “You’re pretending,” I said. “You’re pretending,” she repeated and her smile made me tremble. I was about to touch the girl in front of me and it was when realization h...

Untitled

The Author: Althea Moreno from G12-Persephone I don’t tell this to her often but yeah, she is beautiful with her white skin and red rosy cheeks (even though she looks like an emoji because she doesn’t have a nose lol). She is beautiful inside and out. She was an unexpected gift that I had received from God. At first when we were in Junior High I totally hate her. She’s so quiet and she’s a shy type girl – very opposite of me. But now, she is like my sister from another mother. She is my alter ego. She never gets tired to listen to all of my nonsense dramas, chikas, and all. She is someone whom I can always rely on. A girl whom I thought will never be my friend turned out to be the girl who is now my best friend.  She’s been a partner in crime for the last three years. She knows every detail of my secrets. She’s more than a diary to me.

MY LOVING MOTHER

The Author Ms. Charity Solivio of G12 - Psyche First of all I just wanted to tell you “Thank you, Mama.” Early in the morning you wake up before the rooster says tiktilaok. You cook breakfast and also our lunch. I can still smell the aroma of hotdog and butter this morning, makes my stomach rumble. You also prepared hot water for our bath so that we will not catch cold. You also ironed our uniform so that it looks neat and clean for school. Every morning, every time I wake up, all of the things I need for school are ready. I appreciate all the things you did for me Mama, thank you is not enough but I know someday I can repay all the things you did for me. You will just sit like a Queen and you will not do anything.
