Gladys' Entry on Imagery

There’s a boy sitting next to me in my class. He’s just a typical boy that every girl wants to fall in love with – tall, handsome, and well – built. At first, I didn’t notice him because I don’t belong to the group of girls who have eyes as sharp as knife in finding handsome boys. I started to notice him when I found out that he was intelligent.
He’s always standing in front of the class and talking smoothly so that all the attention of my classmates are drawn to him. I admitted to myself that I have a crush on him. Every time he flashes his bright smile that shows his white perfect teeth, I can’t help but smile too. Every time he throws a very funny joke to the class and everyone is laughing hard, I can’t help but fall in love with his personality. I thought to myself that he is like the man I adored before – tall, handsome, has a good sense of humor and is intelligent.
One afternoon after all of my classmates left the room, I was the last one to leave and was surprise to see him standing at the door, leaning on the wall, hands on his pocket, eyes closed. I can’t help but stare at him. When he noticed my presence he faced me and extended his right hand towards me and said, “Hi. I’m Neil..” with a smile on his face.
This just got to be my best day…ever.

HOW IS OUR EAPP CLASS SO FAR?

Comments emailed by my ACAD - E students for their English for Academic and Professional Purposes Class. They wrote this last month, right now, I'm no longer so sure if they felt the same way. Hahaha.  HOW IS OUR CLASS IN EAPP GOING SO FAR? So far... Our EAPP class is going well and it's pretty interesting because we're tackling some things that are really in my interest. There's just something in our class that fires me up. Well maybe, it is because my classmates are also showing a great time interacting when our class is going. What made it even more nice and amazing is that, we're going smoothly through the topics which made it even easier for us to cope up with the lesson. For some reason, our teacher is beyond awesome up to the point that we are slowly stepping out of our comfort zones especially when we're doing a reporting. I guess bringing up this K-12 curriculum is not that bad after all. -        REU JEAN BACABAC  For ...

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic?

Can heterosexual men and women truly be friends with no hopes or expectations of anything more romantic? by Gladys Seracarpio Introduction:                 Friendship is something that everyone needs. We need friends so that our life will not be boring. We are comfortable when we are with them. No man is an island as they say. But can a girl and a guy be ‘just friends’without any romantic stuffs involved? For me, it’s a No. Body:                 It may sound stereotypical, but men do have sex in mind. Researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology surveyed 308 heterosexual undergrad students between the ages 18 and 30, asking them about their friendships, sexual attractions and experiences with misread social signals.              ...

Luel's Entry on Imagery

Name                   : Luel Jay Pedrano 12 - Athena Content / Lesson : Imagery on Literary Texts Subject                : Creative Writing I was sitting in my uncomfortable armchair in our classroom. It was so hot and irritating. It was the last subject for the day. My ears were so attentive as I was listening to the woman with a girly tone of voice. She was in front of us, standing steadily, and is talking about our class lesson. It's kind of weird that in our other subject I was falling asleep but with hers – it was so interesting. I was staring at her eyes which are of the same color as her eyebrows – dark and attractive. She was not that tall and not that skinny. Her words were so clear to my ears and she was sliding her fingers through her hair – placing it on the back of her ears. She is the type of woman you don’t find easily these days. Her intelligent and fluent pronunciation o...
